“We didn’t have money. After having six children, we spent most of our days worrying about how to feed and educate them. We did have small pieces of land here and there, but didn’t know how to put them to use.” -Gulzamba Begum.
Like most people in her community, Gulzamba’s family primarily depends on agriculture for livelihood. But, lack of access to agricultural inputs, such as knowledge and resources put food security and incomes at risk.
Gulzamba however, took a turn around and equipped herself with agricultural knowledge from BRAC. With the tools and guidance she received, she started farming in the proper way and produced enough vegetables to fulfil her family’s needs as well as earn money by selling the extra.
